At Citizens Campaign for the Environment, (CCE) you will learn what it takes to be a community organizer. You will be joining a team of dedicated and like-minded individuals in the fight to protect our environment, public health and our communities at large. CCE provides the opportunity to make real environmental change stemming locally and reaching out globally.
CCE is at the forefront of efforts to protect our natural resources and public interest. As NY's most effective environmental not-for-profit organization, CCE has maintained a thirty year history of WINNING campaigns. Our focus is on water quality issues in CCE. We are currently working to ban plastic microbeads from personal care products in NY. These small plastic particles have been found at alarming rates in every body of water in the world, with an especially high concentration in Long Island Sound, our bays and the ocean. They threaten ecosystems and public health. By passing a ban on the sale of these products we will have an impact on the industry at the national level and the protection of all of the world's oceans.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZING

We are hiring and training community organizers to join our staff, both for part time and long term positions. There is ample room for advancement, and we work year round -- we don't just disappear after elections.

Candidates should have strong verbal communication skills, be positive and energetic and have an interest in environmental issues or non-profit work. We do offer extensive training.
Compensation and Benefits: Full-time: 2pm - 10pm, $490+/WK; Part-time also available (3 days a week - you pick the days that work for you!) Great flexibility for students.
