Seeking NICET Resident/Office Engineers and Construction Inspectors - (New York City/ Long Island) New York City

TECTONIC is actively seeking NICET IV Certified Resident/Office Engineers and NICET II Certified Construction Inspectors to work on various projects within the NYC metro area and Nassau County.

Job Functions:

Essential functions of the Resident/Office Engineer position will include:

 - Supervise, coordinate, and track the progress of projects, including tracking and reporting of the budget and the schedule;
 - Supervise and assist inspectors to ensure project is documented accurately and that project management, construction, and inspection issues are addressed;
 - Maintain technical documentation for projects, including tracking, logging, and maintaining all construction and engineering documents, shop drawings, and related documentation;
 - Review all project documentation to ensure accuracy and integrity of documentation in accordance with project procedures;
 - Create, analyze, and prepare project reports, and spreadsheets as required in accordance with project requirements;
 - Follow all site safety procedures in accordance with OSHA, as well as Company and project specific guidelines;
 - All other duties as assigned.

Essential functions of the NICET Construction Inspector position include:

 - Interpret drawings and documents, including work orders, build documents and manufacturing processes;
 - Verify that materials, equipment, and procedures are as specified for the project, as well as testing of procedure qualifications;
 - Utilize required testing equipment in order to perform necessary field tests in accordance with specifications to identify and control all non-conforming products;
 - Communicate with clients, contractors, other inspectors and supervisors regarding specifications and qualification test results;
 - Prepare written reports in accordance with qualification tests;
 - All other duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience Required:

Candidates must possess the following certifications and skills for the NICET IV Resident/Office Engineer position:

 - Must possess and maintain a valid NICET Level IV Certification and/or valid Professional Engineering License
 - A minimum of 10 years prior experience on furnishing and installing diffusion wells that are 10 feet in diameter and up to 50 feet deep or experience on similar projects required;
 - Must be familiar with the Manual for Uniform Recordkeeping (MURK) and the Computerized Engineers Estimate System (CEES) and possess NYSDOT recordkeeping experience; experience with Nassau County specifications and standards a plus;
 - Previous experience with NYSDOT preferred; experience with Nassau County Department of Public Works a plus;
 - May also require a valid, clean driver's license and personal vehicle to travel to and within project sites as needed.

Candidates must possess the following certifications and skills for the NICET II Construction Inspector position:

 - Must possess and maintain a valid NICET II Certification;
 - Must also possess valid OSHA 10 Hour Construction and ACI Concrete Field Testing Certifications and be familiar with the Manual for Uniform Recordkeeping (MURK) and the Computerized Engineers Estimate System (CEES);
 - A minimum of 5 years of related experience in field inspection or similar activities required; previous experience with NYSDOT and Nassau County specifications and standards is preferred;
 - Communicate effectively both orally and written, and must be detailed oriented;
 - Understand the fundamentals of necessary inspection codes and requirements in order to carry out testing;
 - May also require valid, clean driver's license and personal vehicle to travel to and within job sites as needed.
