1. FZAD Architecture + Design is a ten person office that does creative retail, residential and commercial interior projects using AutoCad Architecture 2015 and Sketch Up. We use 3D in our presentations using Sketch, Revit and 3D Max.
2. FZAD has a year around internship program organized around the school year semester.
3. The program is designed to give the intern a well-rounded knowledge of the profession by participating in the major aspects of the profession. Here is a brief introduction of our intern program:
a. There are 5 paid professionals at FZAD.
b. In addition we have a finance officer, two senior designers.
c. Each intern will be a direct assistant for a period of time to each of the 5 paid professionals.
d. Each staff member does a specific task as well as work on entire projects.
e. Each intern will work for each person for a period of time and then like musical chairs will switch and move on.
f. In addition we give a lecture every Friday about some aspect of the profession and provide lunch.
g. In addition each intern is required to take a home study course to become student members of the Construction Specification Institute where they learn how to write specs and how the profession is organized.
4. For the first month we only pay for a train pass of 112.00 a month.
5. If the intern feels comfortable and are applying themselves we bring them onto the payroll at $ 9.00 an hour starting their 2nd month.
6. The internships should last about three months to nine months. So, if you think of yourself as an independent thinker who is skillful and quick to make decisions then we are the place for you. You must love what you do and be passionate about it. You must love all of the detail, finishes and furniture similar to a Wrightian level of appreciation to detail.
