FZAD is seeking an intern to assist the principal of the office that would evolve into a salary position. The person will shadow Frederic Zonsius, President of FZAD, doing a number of assorted tasks from new business, to administrative, to design proposals.

1. FZAD Architecture + Design is a ten person office that does creative retail, residential and commercial interior projects using AutoCad Architecture 2015 and Sketch Up. We use 3D in our presentations using Sketch Up, Revit and 3D Max.
2. This internship program is designed to find an individual who will eventually become a salaried long term staff member who will enjoy and fit into the office atmosphere. This is critical to the selection of the intern since this position will require a great deal of hands on training. The applicant should be done with college or soon to graduate and wants to take on a role of this nature. The long range evolution of this role is to become the VP to Frederic Zonsius. This will involve the eventual understanding of the profession at large. (see below)
3. The program is designed to give the intern a well-rounded knowledge of the profession by assisting the principal in his day to day responsibilities. The intern will work alongside another intern that is currently hired on a part time basis due to her school demands. Here is a brief introduction of this program:
a. Business Development and Marketing
b. Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables
c. Financial Budgets and Long Range Planning
d. Design and proposals using Sketch Up prepare preliminary floor plans for design proposals
e. Knowledge of Building Codes
f. Knowledge of Building Department Procedures
g. The office has a lecture every Friday about some aspect of the profession.
h. In addition each intern is required to take a home study course to become student members of the Construction Specification Institute where they learn how to write specs and how the profession is organized.
i. Each intern will receive a required reading list with deadlines.
4. For the first month FZAD will pay for a train pass of 112.00 a month.
5. If the intern feels comfortable and are applying themselves FZAD will offer a payroll position at $10.00 an hour starting their 2nd month; increases to follow based upon schedule and time commitment and long range goals. Based upon the interview and the unique issues of each individual, a program will be designed for that person.
6. In essence, this internship is to search out candidates for a full time salaried position for assistant to Frederic Zonsius. It is not simply an administrative position, the individual will need to be on their education track of architectural studies. The selective process will be based upon the long term commitment of the applicant and what their goals are and are they consistent with this position.
7. Hence the person should be well mannered, mature beyond their years, presentable to clients.
