Seeking Senior Network Engineer - (Flatiron, NYC) New York City

THE OPPORTUNITY: We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our professional services team to assist with network implementations, infrastructure upgrades and relocations. The Senior Network Engineer will serve as technical project lead for implementations and also be responsible for evaluating client infrastructure, redesigning networks and providing equipment recommendations as well as implementing said recommendations. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with a proven track record in network trends, methodologies, and best practices.

Responsibilities Include

- Design, propose and implement enterprise and data center network solutions
- Act as technical lead for onsite or remote network configurations/installations
- Act as an escalation point for the helpdesk and Level 2 engineers
- Ensure successful onsite network installations and post-sale support
- Participate in sales conference calls and prospect on site visits, and provide product demonstrations
- Work closely with technical members of our channel partners, and to stay up-to-date on their latest products and security solutions and certifications
- Actively drive and manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and advocate for our network products and services


Desired Skills and Experience

- 5-8 years of experience with multiple network manufacturers is required; such as Juniper Networks, Cisco Systems and Palo Alto Networks
- Complete understanding of network design and implementation in enterprise and data center environments
- Complete understanding of networking concepts including network design principles, data flow determination, routing, switching, VLANs, IP addressing
- Complete understanding of networking technologies and solutions including OSPF, BGP, MPLS, IPV6, multicast, policy-based routing, ether-channel, QoS, traffic-shaping, load balancing, etc.
- Experience with Juniper Networks NSM and/or Palo Alto Panorama network management/monitoring systems
- Solid understanding of network scanning/analysis procedures and toolsets for network readiness assessments
- Solid understanding of network utility services including TFTP, FTP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, SMTP, SYSLOG, etc.
- Experience with enterprise class network management/monitoring systems is a plus (Junos Space, CiscoWorks, Opsware, SMARTs, HP Openview, Concord eHealth, etc.)
- Experience with performance management tools and services (OpNet, Compuware, NETMRI, WAAS, WCCP, NetMRI, etc.) is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish professional working relationships with varying levels of both business and technical personnel
- Self-directed to complete tasks in both a professional and timely manner with minimal supervision
- A demonstrated history of delivering exceptional customer service
- Excellent written and oral communication, and strong interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills
