Hiring Linux Administrator - Mid-Level (Chelsea, NYC) New York City

Bootsoft, a software consulting company in Manhattan, is looking for a Mid-Level Linux Administrator with strong network, Linux and server hardware experience. We are looking for a person who's passionate about working with development team to get things done efficiently and on time. The ideal person is a jack-of-all trades who isn't afraid to roll-up their sleeves and do what it takes to get the job done. You'll be working at our office near Penn Station supporting internal infrastructure for our local and offshore offices.


WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Work on our diverse internal infrastructure with Linux at its core
- Troubleshoot issues with hardware, software, applications and network
- Work with software engineers to develop better applications and platforms, think DevOps
- Build out our continuous integration system and code deployment processes
- Participate in architecting and building internal and client's systems
- Participation in 24/7 on-call rotation


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Proven ability to support a large, reliable, scalable infrastructure -- you don't have to build it from scratch, but you will need to ensure it runs smoothly
- Extensive knowledge of Linux (RH/CentOS preferred)
- Scripting experience (BASH, Perl, Python, etc.)
- Solid understanding of the following protocols and services
- HTTP,DNS,DHCP,SSH,SIP,NFS,TCP,NTP,SNMP,SMTP,IMAP
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong documentation skills (Wiki and static documents)
- Experience working with a variety of technologies and software: RedHat Linux, Apache, CVS/SVN/Git, VMWare, Samba, LDAP,Asterisk PBX, JBoss, Tomcat, Zimbra, Jenkins


NICE-TO-HAVES
- A relevant university degree is great, but we care more about industry experience and knowledge
- Programming experience (Java, PHP, .NET). You'll work directly with software engineers troubleshooting and improving applications
- Previous work experience in a start-up environment
