Description: A National Research Council Davies Fellowship post-doctoral position is available. We seek motivated scientists who are ready to establish a new research thrust in neurobiology. The incumbent will serve as a post-doctoral research fellow and will oversee a group of students and technicians in a fast-paced and creative environment. Applicants should have experience leading efforts involving tissue culture; molecular biology; microscopy of biological systems; biomaterials; or, in vivo characterization. This work will be carried out in close collaboration with Johns Hopkins University and may require occasional travel (1 week per quarter). This position is supported through a National Research Council Fellowship and will leverage a multi-year Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program grant in Nerve Regeneration that provides support for research materials.

Teaching: This position carries a teaching requirement of one semester per academic year in the Department of Mathematics. Courses include early undergraduate mathematics (calculus I or calculus II) but can also include upper level mathematics, contingent on teaching experience and expertise.

Location: West Point, NY

Education and Experience: A Ph.D. in Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, bioinformatics or a related field with lab or industry experience in molecular biology; microscopy, protein engineering; biomaterials; or cell biology is preferred. Clinicians with relevant research experience are also encouraged to apply.
