Hiring Lab Manager, Chromatin Biology & Epigenetics (Upper East Side, NYC) New York City

The Laboratory of Chromatin Biology and Epigenetics at The Rockefeller University is looking for a highly motivated Lab Manager for a multidisciplinary team that pioneers in the study of epigenetics and its link to human diseases. The ideal candidate thrives on new challenges and is excited by world-class research as well as a highly interactive and stimulating laboratory environment.

The Laboratory Manager will promote efficient use and flow of financial and scientific resources in a high-level research environment. Responsibilities include budget planning and monitoring, equipment purchase and maintenance, all supply purchases, organization of libraries of peptides, antibodies, plasmids, yeast strains and cell lines, compliance with University safety regulations, orientation of new lab members, monitoring of collaborative projects with outside laboratories or companies, and bench science in support of ongoing research projects.

Bachelor's degree in science required; advanced degree strongly preferred. Must have knowledge of general laboratory equipment and materials and the ability to work independently within a team environment. Must possess excellent organizational, record-keeping and communication skills. Superior multitasking ability, excellent interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic necessary. Must be self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, common sense and the ability to supervise others. Must be multi-faceted and have an innate ability to manage priorities and provide support in many areas.
