Eden II, a premiere social service organization in the metropolitan New York area providing services to youth and adults with autism, is currently seeking a dynamic person to join the senior management team and serve as Chief Development Officer.

The Chief Development Officer is responsible for advancing the mission of Eden II, the Genesis Foundation, and the Eden II/Genesis Programs through the conception, development, coordination, implementation, and management of all aspects of the organization's comprehensive fundraising and marketing program.

The position's major functions include (but are not limited to):
• Planning, implementation, and management all the fund development activities of Eden II, the Genesis Foundation, and the Eden II/Genesis Programs.
• Developing the overall goals and detailed strategies for all components of a comprehensive fundraising program, including the systems for evaluating and reporting on the impact and effectiveness of fundraising activities tied to those goals and objectives.
• Managing the fundraising activities of the CEO, development and executive staff, and volunteer leadership.
• Manage own portfolio of select major gift prospects and donors, granting agencies, and sponsors.
• Participate in the development of marketing, communications, and promotional plans to develop a strong public image for Eden II.
• Develop and/or manage highly performing fundraising operations and infrastructure.
• Prepare and administer budgets for the fundraising efforts.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent; and a minimum of seven to ten years or more experience in a senior fundraising position with strong knowledge of fundraising operations, infrastructure, and policies and procedures; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven track record in managing comprehensive fundraising operations including:
o Individual, corporate, and foundation major gift prospect and donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship and individual planned giving
o Grant writing and management
o Special event management
o Direct response fundraising, including direct mail, email, web-based, and social media engagement and solicitation
• Strong working knowledge of the fundamentals of fundraising operations and infrastructure, including all aspects of prospect and donor relationship management, donor stewardship and accountability, and fundraising performance measurement and reporting.
• Experience in planning, budget management, and financial reporting skills.
• Excellent organization and communication (oral and written) skills; experience in editing and creating a variety of materials.
• Ability to effectively supervise, motivate, and support others in a demanding team environment.
• Proven ability to work within tight time lines and limited budgets and fully contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented organization.
• Ability to effectively interface and build relationships with the organization's prospects, donors, and board members.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Donor Perfect or other fundraising software.
• Appreciation for and understanding of Eden II's mission and the programs and services it offers to the communities it serves.
• Experience with autism-related or special needs organizations a plus.
• Flexible schedule to work nights or weekends, as needed.
• Reliable transportation and a valid Driver's License from state of residence required.
