Title: Communications Coordinator (Part-time)
Location: Staten Island

Eden II, a premiere social service organization in the metropolitan New York area providing services to youth and adults with autism, is currently seeking to fill the key development team position of Communications Coordinator.

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing and communications strategies, promotion of the agency's visibility and image, and support of raising philanthropic resources to further the mission of the organization.

This position is part time (20 hours per week), non-exempt.

The position's major functions include (but are not limited to):
Agency Brand, Marketing, Communications, and Public Relations
• Lead the development of Eden II and Genesis Foundation's marketing and communications plan, timeline, and budget; manage successful implementation and execution of the plan.
• Create, produce, and disseminate printed and online publications, including, but not limited to brochures, newsletters, annual reports, events, and other collateral materials.
• Evaluate and negotiate vendor contracts; manage production schedules with marketing and communications vendors.
• Manage and coordinate creation and update of website and social media content.
• Manage the Eden II media relations program including writing and distributing press releases and securing media placement for events and activities.

Development/Fundraising-Related Marketing and Communications
• Oversee the development of fundraising collateral material including the writing, designing, production, and distribution of case statements, direct response mechanisms, including direct mail, email, website, and social media.
• Implement e-communications for donors and general public; manage e-communications database.

Thought Leadership Communications
• Help build awareness of the thought-leadership of Eden II's executive leadership team through marketing, communications, articles, public speaking, and other proactive strategies.



The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, English/journalism, or a related communications field preferred; at least five years of marketing, communications, media, or public relations experience.
• Strong experience in media relations including a portfolio of media contacts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, creative thinking, and problem solving skills.
• Some photography experience for publications and communications preferred.
• Experience managing direct response strategies and resources, including direct mail, email, websites, social media.
• Proven ability to work within tight time lines and limited budgets and fully contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented organization.
• Ability to effectively interface and build relationships with the organization's prospects, donors, and board members.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Word Press (or similar software).
• Experience with Donor Perfect or other fundraising software a plus.
• Appreciation for and understanding of Eden II's mission and the programs and services it offers to the communities it serves.
• Experience with autism-related or special needs organizations a plus.
• Flexible schedule to work nights or weekends, as needed.
• Reliable transportation and a valid Driver's License from state of residence required.
