Title: Development Officer -- Staten Island
Location: One F/T Position in Staten Island and One F/T Position in Long Island

Eden II, a premiere social service organization in the metropolitan New York area providing services to youth and adults with autism, is currently seeking an experienced development officer to fill this key position on Staten Island.

The Development Officer -- Staten Island is responsible for managing and coordinating fundraising for organizational priorities on Staten Island, as well as participating in activities that further the overall organizational funding priorities of Eden II and the Eden II/Genesis Foundation.

This position is full-time, exempt.

The position's major functions include (but are not limited to):
• Participate in the planning and goal setting for all fundraising activities of Eden II -- Staten Island.
• Develop detailed strategies for all fundraising goals for Staten Island; work with the CEO, Chief Development Officer, and volunteers to ensure fulfillment of those goals.
• Work with fundraising staff to identify, qualify, engage, cultivate, and solicit individual, corporate, and foundation donors, sponsors, and government funders; prospective donors; and other constituencies interested in and affected by the Eden II -- Staten Island activities.
• Create and execute a strategy for a sustained base of annual individual donors.
• Manage own portfolio of select major and annual gift prospects and donors, granting agencies, and sponsors.
• Develop and track proposals and reports for all Staten Island foundation and corporate fundraising.
• Execute and oversee Staten Island special events.
• Participate in/support other Eden II and Genesis Foundation fundraising activities, as requested.
• Represent Eden II to various community and related organizations.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent; and a minimum of three to five years or more experience in fundraising; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent organization and communication (oral and written) skills.
• Proven ability to work within tight time lines and limited budgets and fully contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented organization.
• Ability to effectively interface and build relationships with the organization's prospects, donors, and board members.
• Able to work with minimal supervision, to manage multiple priorities, and to work in a deadline-driven environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Donor Perfect or other fundraising software.
• Appreciation for and understanding of Eden II's mission and the programs and services it offers to the communities it serves.
• Experience with autism-related or special needs organizations a plus.
• Flexible schedule to work nights or weekends, as needed.
• Reliable transportation and a valid Driver's License from state of residence required.
