Accounts Payable/ Senior Accountant


Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the overall accuracy, review and processing of accounts payable transactions.
• Review invoices received from all vendors for accuracy and appropriate level of approval
• Ensure timely and accurate G/L coding of invoices and expenses
• Accurately process vendor invoices into accounting system
• Properly match invoices to PO's
• Check invoiced prices against price bids
• Generate weekly check runs and all steps involved with this process
• Research, resolve and respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner
• Create 1099's
• Enter monthly journal entries into the general ledger
• Assist with the month-end and year-end closings
• Assist with the internal and external audits
• Prepare reports as needed

Qualifications:
• Bachelor in Accounting or related field
• Min. 3 years of work experience in an accounting department
• Thorough understanding of all aspects of Accounts Payable
• Working knowledge of accounting principles
• Experience managing billing systems
• Perfect knowledge of Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, Outlook
• Excellent time management and organizational skills in order to meet processing deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong problem solving skills
• Ability to handle a fast paced environment
