WE ARE A RETIRED COUPLE with a love for travel and meeting new friends. We have swapped our oceanfront home with people all over the world for weeks at a time- and with people in other parts of New England / New York for long weekends. Our connections are made through Craigslist, HomeExchange.com, and through other established home swapping sites. On occasion, when our schedule allows, we offer our entire house. Most of the time it's a visit to our private guest studio. Perfect for couples or small families. Relax in our hot tub and watch the waves, paddle around in a kayak, or walk into our beautiful town where you can shop or dine. The best part is that it does not need to be a simultaneous exchange- no tedious coordination of vacation schedules as with typical home swaps. Our guest apartment allows you to come here first, then let us stay at your place sometime when you're out of town. Architects, authors, archeologists, owners of B&B's- even a NASA astronaut- all kinds of travelers have come from as far away as New Zealand and as close by as downtown Boston. ABOUT OUR HOUSE: Architect owner. The property is spotless with a nautical decor. Situated on a rocky bluff overlooking a quiet cove with the open ocean just beyond, this contemporary house is located on Peach's Point- a private dead end road at the very tip of the Marblehead peninsula. Watch everything from kayaks to ocean liners drift past this spectacular view. Rocky cliffs, islands, beaches, light houses, lobster boats, sea gulls, seals, and swans- looks more like the coast of Down East Maine, but it's all right here, less than 20 miles from downtown Boston. Easy access to the city by car or nearby bus.

ABOUT OUR GUEST APARTMENT: Our top [third] floor has a private guest suite with it's own locked outside entrance [locked from the main house as well], small kitchenette, living area with 60" flat screen TV, wifi, full bath [shower], and a spiral stair that leads up to a sleeping loft with king size bed and two twins. A fold out sofa allows a family of five to sleep in this studio "apartment", along with plenty of privacy. See the last nine photos below. Fantastic views from up here and everything is newly renovated. We would be living-and working in the main part of the house during your stay. Sure, you can use the deck, gas grill, and the hot tub downstairs- grab a kayak or a bicycle, or just explore the beautiful North Shore. Come stay for a long weekend- eventually we'll get to your Manhattan location.

ABOUT OUR TOWN: Often called the "Birthplace of the American Navy", Marblehead is sailing / fishing / artist community on a peninsula, twenty miles north of downtown Boston. It's an easy drive from the city or you can take the Blue line and switch to a bus that stops down the street- or take the Commuter Rail to Salem. Beautiful seascapes all over town, but none finer than the view from our house at the very tip of the peninsula. Our contemporary house is located in an exclusive neighborhood on a private dead end road, overlooking the North Atlantic. Walk the narrow winding streets to the village harbor front with quaint restaurants, shops, and historic sites. Bicycle to nearby Salem, Massachusetts with its Witch History and Peabody Essex Museum. Rockport, Gloucester, and other parts of Cape Anne are a bit farther away- a very scenic drive.
