Join us as we near goaloop's public launch! We are seeking two Interns to work with our Chief Information Officer, who received his Phd in Computer Science from Columbia University, and our Director of Engineering, a highly skilled programmer of 23 years, as hands-on Software Developers to fix bugs, deploy new features, and become important members of the small team that is launching Goaloop! Goaloop is a simple but ambitious application with great potential for innovation. Goaloop is a network based on goals, where goals can seek funding, creating the world's first goal market® -- it's where goals and money meet® and more. Funding is optional on goaloop; 10% of goals set to date are seeking funding. Goaloop has been called "fun" and "addictive" and described as a "new model for supply-and-demand", "uplifting" and "revolutionary."

We've also been called the world's first "crowd-doing" site. Got a goal? Goaloop it! State your goal on goaloop, and people and resources come to you to help you achieve it like never before. Goaloop will also match goals: If your goal is to learn the piano, you'll see goals to teach the piano.

We recently launched goaloop's private alpha and are very excited about the year ahead, as we prepare for the beta and public launches. We are a small, growing team, located close to Columbia University. We welcome great candidates near and far, and believe everyone should work in conditions they work best -- whether coming to our start-up office near Columbia or telecommuting and coming together for meetings. Most openings require a major commitment, but we are open to flex schedules and part-time involvement in some cases.

We are partial to candidates with at least the following experience but remain open to all ambitious engineering/computer science students and graduates:

1-3 years hands-on core java, j2ee, XML
CSS, HTML and javascript
J2EE experience a huge plus
Any UI development experience is a plus
Experience with real life production environments is a plus
Basic knowledge of jquery or any javascript framework is a plus
Experience with build, deployment and support
Able to debug server problems and propose solutions
1-2 years working knowledge of mysql is a plus
A great team-player
