e are looking for AmeriCorps members! Serve in Sunset Park, a diverse, low-income community in southwestern Brooklyn that is primarily composed of recent immigrants.
AmeriCorps members note:
must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident
Over 18
Sign a 10.5 month contract
will receive $1,100 per month with an end of term education scholarship of $5,645.

AmeriCorps positions available starting immediately:
1. Mandarin fluency required: Searching for a member looking to serve in the social work field to assist families to access federal benefits, support services, and counseling.

2. Academic Support teacher: engage with students at Turning Point's adult education program, which serves youth and adults. Services include English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Adult Basic Education (ABE), and High School Equivalency (HSE) classes, as well as support services focused on life skills and job readiness.

3. Job Readiness coordinator: Brooklyn Workforce Innovations - will work closely with individuals who are either low income, unemployed and or underemployed. Assist with recruitment, weekly orientations and screening of applicants for job readiness classes, post training and additional program support.

4. Some part-time positions available for health outreach services and elementary education specialists.
