Human Resources Manager WANTED (Brooklyn, NYC) New York City

Overview of Position:
The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for all Human Resources related duties for New York City Bike Share on an ongoing basis. Responsibilities include maintaining the functions of employee compensation, recruitment, personnel policies, and regulatory compliance. This position reports to the General Manager.

Key Aspects of Position:
• Administer compensation, benefits, performance management systems, and safety systems, in coordination with corporate Human Resources personnel.
• Identify staff vacancies and recruit, interview and select applicants.
• Maintain job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
• Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits.
• Advise managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommend needed changes.
• Uphold legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, and maintaining records.
• Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
• Plan and conduct new employee orientation and onboarding processes.
• Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts, and helping to resolve work-related problems.
• Analyze training needs to design employee development and health and safety programs.
• Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates.
• Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices.
• Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination.
• Investigate and report on industrial accidents for insurance carriers.
• Prepare personnel forecast to project employment needs.
• Administer difficult staffing duties, including dealing with a new and changing work environment, refereeing disputes, termination of employees, and administering disciplinary procedures.
• Work under the direction of NYC Bike Share's General Manager.
• Meet regularly with Alta Bicycle Share's Director of Human Resources to discuss policies, procedures, and various topics related to Human Resources management.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:
• Undergraduate degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Human Resources or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including experience managing a team.
• High proficiency in Excel, Word, Google Applications, and the ability to learn new software.
• Ability to motivate, develop, and direct people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
• Must be able to develop and maintain positive relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, negotiation, and personnel information systems.
• Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
• Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and leadership capabilities.
• Ability to work in a team culture that embraces a mission-driven, team-oriented, environmentally sustainable organization.
• Ability to report to work at NYC Bike Share's Brooklyn office location and field locations as needed.
• This position may require hours which exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week.
• This position may require limited travel.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Graduate degree preferred
• PHR or SPHR certification preferred
