As an Our Woodbury location on Long Island is currently hiring a part time art studio teacher that will be available to work Monday-Friday from 9:30am-1:30pm. Opportunity to pick up additional hours and go full time in the future is possible. As a Lead Art Studio Teacher at Bright Horizons, you will serve as curricular leader and resource to teachers and others in the center as well as at other centers and meet Bright Horizons expectations of excellence including NAEYC accreditation, World at Their Fingertips program for learning and Reggio Emilio approach. The Lead Art Studio Teacher will set up and maintain the Project Room and train teachers while respecting and maintaining the high quality enrichment programs. In addition, the Lead Art Studio Teacher will assist in training Art Studio Teachers at other centers or develop training materials for other Art Studio Teachers outside of his/her center. The Lead Art Studio Teacher may help develop curriculum materials and resources for other Art Studio Teachers to use. .

Partnering with families and working with a diverse team of teachers, you will help children develop their social, cognitive, emotional, and physical skills. Your gentle guidance and nurturing care will help children reach key developmental milestones in a setting that is designed for learning in a beautiful, home-like atmosphere.

Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED required with a CDA or AA in Education. Bachelors degree is preferred.
Must meet state requirements for education and experience (Additional center/school requirements may apply)
Related early childhood education/child development college course work
Two years of professional teaching experience, including experience in an art background or documented experience working with children is required
