Committee for Early Childhood Development in Hollis, NY has an opening for an Educational Director.

All applicants must:

* Possess a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from an accredited college.
* Have NYS Certification Pre-K to 6 or certification pending.
* Have a minimum of 2 years paid experience as a Group/Lead Teacher in a preschool
classroom.
*Complete screenings and obtain clearance from the NYC Department of Investigation
and the NYS Central Registry.
*Be fluent in both verbal and written English.
*Be able to communicate effectively with staff, parents and children.
*Be computer-literate.
*Be in good physical and emotional health.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

*Coordinating and maintaining a developmentally appropriate preschool program which
complies with Head Start Performance Standards, NYC Department of Education
Standards, NYC Department of Health regulations and NYC Children's Services
regulations.
*Supervising 5 teaching teams, consisting of 1 Group and 1 Assistant Teacher per team.
*Working closely with the Executive Director, Deputy Director, Senior Educational Director and other members of the Management Team to ensure appropriate program planning and operations.
*Working closely with the Special Education Coordinator to ensure that children with
developmental, speech/language or behavioral concerns are getting the proper services.
*Mentoring new Educational Staff using positive role modeling and reflective
supervision techniques.
*Developing and maintaining a tracking system to ensure that all necessary educational
forms are completed in a timely fashion
*Conducting workshops and training sessions for Educational Staff, parents and
volunteers.

Supervisory experience is a plus.
Post-graduate credits in leadership and supervision is a plus.
Knowledge of/experience in Head Start is a plus.
Knowledge of/experience with DOE's Universal PreKindergarten Program is a plus.
Knowledge of PreK Common Core Learning Standards is a plus.
