Seeking NYC Operations Lead for Ed-Tech Startup (brooklyn, NYC) New York City

The Operations team is the engine that keeps the gears of AltSchool moving. Our team works to ensure the satisfaction of our students, parents, and teachers, while also running our school sites and expanding our network. We engineer the day-to-day AltSchool experience from behind-the-scenes, iterating across teams throughout the company on operational strategies and processes in order to foster the best learning environment possible. As the part of our organization that is closest to students, teachers and parents, the Operations team owns the relationships for all of the micro-school stakeholders.

As our NYC Operations Lead, you will work cross-functionally to launch and support AltSchool's first NYC location as well as prototyping processes and strategies that help AltSchool expand to serve new communities. The ideal candidate is a scrappy, collaborative problem-solver with an analytical mindset, strong leadership experience and the desire for rapid professional advancement in a growth environment.

Responsibilities:
-Work closely with AltSchool's San Francisco-based school operations teams, as well as Brooklyn-based operations staff and founding educators to launch AltSchool Brooklyn Heights and support it post-launch.
-Lead a team of operations personnel and educators.
-Test and refine AltSchool's playbook for expanding to new communities; contribute both tactically and strategically to further expansion in NYC.
-Adapt AltSchool's operational and educational procedures to better meet the needs of New York families, students and teachers.
-Collect and analyze feedback from stakeholders to identify and execute continual process and communication improvements both internally and externally.

Desired Qualifications:
-Strong project management background; ability to independently drive end-to-end execution of various processes
-Strong leadership and people management experience; ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
-Strong communication and customer service skills; ability to clearly articulate a mission and status in a multi-step process
-Ability to thrive in a startup environment; takes initiative and is comfortable with ambiguity
-Excitement about helping children succeed through a child-centered, technology-enabled primary education
