The Hebrew Home at Riverdale, a nationally acclaimed, not-for-profit, nonsectarian geriatric center located along the Hudson River, has an opportunity for a full time Material Management Manager to join our fast pace dynamic Material Management team which is committed and focused on excellence.
This position is responsible for the planning, execution, delivery and management of purchasing/procurement, requests for proposal process to obtain contracts, inventory management, vendor / distributor partnerships, Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) relationships, inventory control and reconciliation, internal supply and product distribution, warehouse operations, post office, and business support center.
Responsibilities also include managing the entire operation for all entities within the organization (including medical/surgical supplies, medical equipment, specialty products, etc.). Oversees purchasing processes for the purpose of acquiring necessary resources to support all entities within the organization, ensuring accuracy of inventory counts by implementing and managing, in conjunction with receiving staff, a manual and electronic inventory control system and identifying discrepancies in inventory counts and taking corrective action to avoid inconsistencies in the future
The Manager will supervise assigned staff, address employee concerns, direct work, train, discipline, conduct performance evaluations and ensure work assignments are complete and within department objectives.
High School Diploma or GED required - Bachelor's Degree preferred. Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of material distribution and receiving experience in a healthcare facility and prior supervisory experience. The successful individual must demonstrate excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, honesty and integrity. A current driver's license and computer proficiency is required. Experience working in a large healthcare setting preferred.
