About Polaris
Polaris provides consulting services for the life science industry with clients including many of the largest global pharmaceutical companies, as well as other pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotech firms. Polaris is a small yet rapidly growing company with an entrepreneurial culture and members with experience from top consulting firms (e.g. Accenture, PWC, Boston Consulting Group, Deloitte) and pharmaceutical firms (e.g. Pfizer, Merck).
Polaris offers a series of specialty web-based applications, which are configured and customized based on the requirements of our clients. Polaris hosts the applications in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, and their clients sign hosting, support, and software licensing agreements on an average term of 36 months.
These solutions offer industry and client specific forms and workflows related to data collection, request approval, and audit capabilities for the pharmaceutical industry. The systems, on average, host around 500 unique external users and service up to 10,000 requests per year.
About the Position:
We are seeking an experienced Product and Business Development Associate to support the ongoing Software Product Development and Business Development efforts of Polaris. This individual should that possess the ability to manage the production and submission of responses to Consulting and Software RFPs and RFQs, write new editorial content and edit existing material, produce a range of marketing materials, and assist with a variety of business development initiatives. In addition, the individual will need to independently manage internal software development efforts for Polaris' existing products as well as emerging offerings.
Representative Job Duties:
The Product and Business Development Associate will be responsible for coordinating our Business Development, Product Development and Marketing Initiatives, including:
1. Business Development [40%]
a. System administrator for internal CRM Application (Zoho)
b. Enter contacts and leads after conferences
c. Assist with writing proposals
d. Assist with RFI and RFP responses
e. Schedule client demonstrations and prepare demo environments
f. Identify and produce metrics for sales team
g. Follow-up regularly with sales team, to push for results on leads and proposals
h. Identify new opportunities for business
2. Product Development [40%]
a. Coordinate schedule of product releases
b. Ownership of product roadmap
c. Facilitate processes to gather new features and products from key internal product stakeholders
d. Manage product development releases -- requirements, development, testing and release
e. Support overall product development team efforts -- tracking and consolidating status, producing and distributing key product release reports & metrics.
3. Marketing [20%]
a. Run weekly marketing meetings
b. Manage conference calendar
c. Prepare team and materials for each conference event
d. Regularly update social media platforms, brochures, and website content
e. Market research on new market and new offering opportunities
f. Write new materials, including press releases, product sales sheets, etc.
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• 3-5 years related work experience, within a business services environment
• Experience in software development strongly preferred (internal development and/or systems integration experience)
• Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills
• Experience managing social media accounts
Physical and Location Requirements:
• Ability to work in the office on a regular basis (core Polaris office hours are 9 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday in the NYC office)
• Upon hire, candidate must be able to successfully pass background and drug test
