Knewton is looking for a T-shaped designer to add to the Product Design/UX team. We're responsible for the full design process from user research to interaction design to the visual presentation. The product we are building is a consumer facing web application from the ground up so there's a lot of opportunity for the right person to have a major impact. The designers are encouraged to work VERY lean and collaboratively with other teams in generating ideas and figuring out the best way to solve problems.
Here are SOME of things you might be tasked with depending on needs and your expertise:
-White boarding hand in hand with Product Managers, Engineers, and other Key stakeholders to coming up with solutions
-Conducting user tests and user interviews, digging through research and creating user personas and scenarios.
-Wireframes (we're not heavy on annotation, but you have to be able to get engineers and other designers what they need to get to work)
-Creating pixel perfect PSDs
-Formulate interaction design patterns
-Working with engineers to ensure that design details are executed to the pixel
Must Have Skills:
-Strong communication skills
-Adobe PS and AI proficiency
-Ability to wireframe
-Ability to quickly ideate, sketch, whiteboard
-Good instincts when it comes to usability
-Firm understanding of HTML and CSS
-Creativity
-Eagerness to learn
Bonus Points for:
-Some Coding ability in HTML/CSS
-Visual Design Skills
-Prototyping
-Decent personality
