VC-Backed Health-Tech Startup looking for Customer Service Manager (SoHo, NYC) New York City

We're Oscar,
A new kind of health insurance company that is using technology to make insurance simple, intuitive, and human. In other words, the kind of healthcare we want for ourselves.

As one of the core founding goals of Oscar, great customer service is about both providing inspired service to members, as well as representing the member voice in all that we do. As a part of the team, you will help tackle complex member issues, work cross-functionally with the entire organization, and learn the deep nuances of health insurance.

Responsibilities:

-Lead customer service operations, including team leaders & support staff (recruiting, training, quality assurance, and workforce management)
-Drive and balance the demands of customer service (customer experience, team happiness, team productivity)
-Leading in a start-up: building stuff where nothing exists, while maintaining a sense of calm for the team
-Ensure professional development of team leads and support team members
-Build capabilities, processes and systems to continually improve Oscar's customer service
-Contribute to Oscar's overall company initiatives
-Define, measure and deliver on team KPIs

Who are you?

-2+ years experience successfully leading and managing team leads and support staff
-Experience successfully growing a customer service operation by at least 100% per year
-Exceptional willingness to support team and customers in any way needed
-Strong quantitative analytical skills and the ability to derive actionable insights from data
-Ability to teach team leadership using KPI targets and reports
-Strong project management skills including planning, milestone setting, and task management
-Willingness to be on-call off-hours
