Seeking Dental Assistant /Receptionist - (Port Chester, Ossining, Mount Kisco & Brewster, NY) Port Chester

Dental Assistants/Receptionists needed for high volume practice with locations in Ossining, Port Chester, Mount Kisco and Brewster. Responsible for a variety of office, patient care, and laboratory duties. Applicants will be assisting the dental providers, preparing patients for treatment, sterilizing instruments, taking x-rays, entering treatment and codes, scheduling dental appointments and collecting payments. Familiarity with electronic medical and dental records a plus. Some experience preferred but willing to train motivated candidates. Main placement is at Port Chester or Ossining, but flexibility is required as dental staff members are sometimes needed for coverage at other sites and our mobile dental vans.

All Open Door Family Medical Centers are located in Westchester and Putnam counties located just North of New York City, which offer excellent schools, easy access to a multitude of outdoor activities, and superb transportation connections to New York City.

Responsibilities

*Provides chair-side assistance when necessary during dental treatment
*Greets patients and escorts them to appropriate operatory
*Assures that dental record, medical record and encounter form are available for the dentist or dental hygienist
*Prepares patient for examinations and treatment, including placement of bib and instruments for procedure.
*Maintains supplies and instruments in all dental exam rooms.
*Performs laboratory and x-ray tasks under supervision of dentist.
*Make appointments for patients. Verifies the need for return appointments
*Greets visitors and patients in a courteous, prompt and friendly manner. Determines their needs, checks appointments and gives appropriate information
*Collects payment due from self-pay patients or co-payments for insurance accounts and changes the claim status in eClinicalWorks accordingly.
*Verifies Medicaid eligibility and scans eligibility forms into document section of the patient file.
*Confirms that signed insurance forms are in the file for each Private Insurance billable encounter.
*Confirms name, address, phone number, and coverage with the patient. Ensures that all patients are properly registered.
*Responds to patient inquiries on a daily basis.
*Ensures that all documents, telephone encounters, requests for medical records, and labs are completed and/or answered on a daily basis.
*Participates in cross training, as required, for the Registrar job tasks; performs marketing functions as required; and registers new patients when required.

Requirements
*High School Diploma or GED
*Bilingual ( English/Spanish) preferred
*Dental assistance experience preferred
*Superior customer service skills and experience
*Flexible and solutions driven
*Responsive and comfortable working in the fast paced high accountability environment with different types of providers.
*Passionate about providing high quality care to low-income, under-served residents and those lacking access to health care.
*Maintains patient confidentiality at all times
*Engaged in learning and continuous quality improvement
*Outstanding verbal and written communications, with a culturally diverse patient and staff population
