This year, Open Door will be the medical home for more than 40,000 patients, providing more than 210,000 visits. Our family medical services include primary medical care, dentistry, mental health, optometry, podiatry, and women's health in Ossining, Sleepy Hollow, Port Chester, Mount Kisco and Brewster, NY.

Open Door is seeking Assistant Director/WIC Nutritionist for its Family Medical Centers in Ossining, NY. The Assistant Director/WIC Nutritionist will report to WIC Director and will be based in Ossining, NY. All Open Door Family Medical Centers are located in Westchester and Putnam counties located just North of New York City, which offer excellent schools, easy access to a multitude of outdoor activities, and superb transportation connections to New York City.

Responsibilities
* Assists the WIC Director with administration and all aspects of the program operations.
* Responsible for supervision of the Quality Assurance Program for the Local Agency's Compliance and Self-Assessment.
* Coordinate and supervise the outreach program with the goal of reducing No Shows from 12% to 10% and increasing the number of WIC participants by 3% or approximately 87 participants in 2015.
* Oversee and monitor all program operations in the absence of the director.
* Assist the Director in development and implementation of the Local Agency Compliance & Self-
* Assessment Quality Assurance Review (LACASA).
* Develop in-service nutrition education sessions for professional and non-professional WIC staff.
* Provide and document nutrition education for sessions on individual and group sessions.
* Prescribe, tailor, authorize, issue and reissue food packages for participants including manual checks, special formula changes according to participant requirements.
* Track participants' progress in established goals in order to improve their overall health.
* Develop a full understanding of the rules and regulations of the WIC program's guidelines at both the State and federal levels.
*Adhere to the requirements of Open Door Family Medical Center and have knowledge of the
* National Patient Safety Goals of the Joint Commission in order to have WIC staff prepared for any unannounced survey.

Requirements
* Master's Degree in Food & Nutrition required. Nutritional sciences, Community Health, Dietetics Public Health Nutrition or RD preferred.
* English/Spanish language skills preferred.
* Three to five years supervisory experience in a community health program.
* One year experience as a WIC Nutritionist with High Risk cases.
* Demonstrated leadership experience as Care Team Leader or preceptor.
* Proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel and other database systems; and knowledge of WICSIS program preferred.
* Focused on and embrace collaborative team-based care;
* Responsive and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high accountability environment;
* Highly organized, and self-directed, able to multi-task;
* Effective in problem solving;
* Excellent judgment and ability to prioritize resources;
* Engaged in learning and continuous quality improvement;
* Outstanding written and verbal communications skills with a culturally diverse patient and staff population;
* Experience in verbal and written communications and superior customer service skills;
