Inventory Clerk Wanted - (Nassau, NY)

Summary:
Responsible for receiving merchandise, unloading or unpacking it, marking it with codes to be identified, and stocking inventory shelves. Maintains records of materials in inventory and on order. Monitors reorder points and initiates action to replenish stock. Reconciles discrepancies in inventories and notifies supervisor of irregularities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with shipping department and ensure efficient flow of all shipments and manage inventory of all products on monthly and annual basis.
• Identify and deliver various raw materials for production and perform quality checks according to company policies and procedures.
• Compile and maintain records of quantity, type, and value of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies stocked in inventory: Count material, equipment, merchandise, and supplies in stock and posts totals to inventory records, manually or using computer.
• Compare inventories to office records or computes figures from records, such as sales orders, production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory.
• Verify clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count, or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
• Compile information on receipt or disbursement of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies, and compute inventory balance, and cost.
• Prepare reports, such as inventory balance and shortages.
• Prepare list of depleted items and recommends survey of defective or unusable items.
• Operate a forklift and office machines, such as computer and calculator.
• Perform regular quality checks on all vendor supplies and maintain record of all receipts.
• Assist to maintain stock at appropriate location in warehouse and rotate stock to remove all old stock.
• Prepare spreadsheet for all shipments and maintain appropriate documents for all warehouse equipments.


Education/Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
• 2-5 years of experience in product and/or inventory administration with experience in safety stock and order quantity analysis is a plus.
• Advanced proficiency ability using Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of general business practices
• Excellent communication skills
• Sound judgment in prioritizing tasks
• Excellent organizational skills
