Seeking Maintenance Worker (Ossining, NY) Ossining

Open Door is seeking a Maintenance Worker working across all of our communities with the position based out of Ossining, New York reporting to the Facilities Manager. All Open Door Family Medical Centers are located in Westchester and Putnam counties located just North of New York City, which offer excellent schools, easy access to a multitude of outdoor activities, and superb transportation connections to New York City.

Responsibilities
*Ability to perform daily maintenance requests as assigned by the Facilities Manager across all of the facilities.
*Electrical responsibilities will include the safe repair and replacement of small electric parts such as switches, light bulbs, ballast, and lighting fixtures.
*Plumbing capabilities include the repair and replacement of plumbing parts including toilet parts, facets, snaking of water lines, and repair of leaks.
*Carpentry skills include repair and installation of doors, repair of windows, patching of dry walls, installation of shelves and other objects to the walls, and the ability to assist in the construction and re-construction of small spaces.
*General maintenance of all buildings, including painting of spaces, as assigned are also required.
*Required to safely use and maintain power tools.
*Maintain interior and exterior of all buildings, provide for building safety and safe egress requirements.
*Support grounds keeping for all seasons including removal of snow and maintaining grounds clear and free of debris.
*Computer knowledge required in order to work with the computer task system and properly document completion on assigned tasks.
*Position requires the ability to lift 50 pounds safely without causing bodily injury.
*Experience as Fire Marshall in a school, hospital or other health care environment is highly desirable.
*Ability act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation.

Requirements
*High School Diploma or GED. Advanced technical education or Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred
*Superior customer service and communication skills with all levels of staff.
*Ability to work with limited direct supervision.
*Knowledgeable about safety procedures required in a health care facility.
*Clean driver's license and reliable transportation to support all facilities; commercial driver's license is highly desirable.
*Knowledge of Joint Commission, OSHA, Material Safety Data Sheets for chemicals used, and other NYS regulations as they relate to health facilities.
*Ability to read and understand construction drawings, and equipment diagrams.
*Must maintain patient confidentiality at all times
*Maintains a safe environment of care for patients and staff
*Ability act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation.
*Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with staff.
