Dog Walkers / Pet Sitters WANTED (Northern Westchester, NY)

Pets a Go Go is a successful and growing pet care company that is offering a rare opportunity to become a full-time dog walker / pet sitter. We are very selective so having a working knowledge of dog breeds and behaviors along with being 21+ and having the ability to pass a background check including driver's license and drug test screens is essential. You must be willing to make a full-time commitment of six or more months and sign a non-compete / non-solicit agreement and cease servicing any other clients (if you have them). We are happy to offer a finder's fee in this situation and allow you to continue servicing them through us (with proof of income). You also need to be a non-smoker.

The ideal candidate will service in or around one of our target locations (or be willing to pick-up and drop-off our corporate vehicle at our Briarcliff Manor, New York location most weeks). Those locations are Armonk/Bedford, Ossining/Croton, Pleasantville/Briarcliff or Yorktown/Cortlandt Manor. The ideal candidate will also have worked (paid or volunteer) in a pet care setting in the past. Please do not apply if you have never owned a dog of at least 50 pounds or greater in your ADULT life. Having a dog as a kid is great but not helpful for this role. You will need to be comfortable with all breeds and sizes including "bully" breeds.

Compensation is on a commission basis (W2) but our average full-timer makes $30-35,000 per year or more. Hours are variable. Most dog walkers / pet sitters work two to three weeks of 10am-4pm with a rotational on call commitment that runs Sunday-Saturday on the third or fourth week. This rotation is predictable and is set a month or more in advance and employees are allowed to swap weeks if necessary. On call days can start as early as 7 am and end as late as 10 pm although they rarely do both. This is a physically active, outdoor job that can include significant driving time especially during on call weeks. Most days in our area are beautiful but the ability to work through heat, rain or snow is essential. The work is fun but the dogs need to go out every day and we are a small company so calling out on a frequent basis or taking more than two weeks per annum in vacation, sick or personal time cannot be tolerated.
