Brooklyn Woods is a non-profit free job training program that prepares unemployed or underemployed New Yorkers through hands-on training with the skills necessary to obtain available entry-level jobs in woodworking and related industries. We are a non-profit and not a private company offering jobs and we do not offer compensation for the free training.

Orientations start at 10 AM and last about 3 hours. No pre-registration is required! Just come in at 9:50 AM on a Wednesday. Again the final chance to apply to our next cycle is April 22nd. Please bring an official form of photo identification and a resume, if you have one. You will have to fill out an application which will ask about your household income and about your work history so please come prepared. You will receive detailed information about the program, take a tour of our facility and take a basic reading, math and measurement test.

Directions: We are located at 125 8th Street between 2nd and 3rd avenues in Gowanus Brooklyn. Take the G/F train to 4th avenue or the R to 9th Street. You will be on the corners of 4th Avenue and 9th Street. Walk down 4th Avenue towards 8th Street, make a left onto 8th Street and continue walking past 3rd Avenue until you reach the grey metal doors marked "125." Ring the black bell marked 'Brooklyn Woods' to the left of the door.
