Seeking Part-Time GRE Instructor / $116per hr - (Chelsea, NYC) New York City

Manhattan Prep seeks expert teachers in New York City who have proven their mastery of the GRE and who can engage students of all ability levels in a stimulating and rigorous learning environment. Teachers are hired to instruct full classes and/or to tutor students one-on-one, both in-person and online. We provide extensive training and all student and instructor materials, but encourage the development and expression of unique teaching styles. Teaching and tutoring take place primarily during evenings and weekends. This is a part-time position: many of our instructors maintain full-time positions, engage in entrepreneurial endeavors, or pursue advanced degrees concurrently while teaching for Manhattan Prep.

Compensation

The pay is $100 per hour for all classroom teaching and $116 per hour for private tutoring -- up to four times the industry standard. Instructors can expect to teach between 3 and 20 hours per week, depending on market need.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered:

- Score qualification. Old exam: 800 on the quant section, 740+ on the verbal section. New exam: 334+ points total on the quant and verbal sections. A scanned image of an official score report must be provided. Please note, we accept practice test scores for application purposes only. - Minimum 2 years teaching experience & expertise. Classroom teaching preferred.
- A flexible schedule, particularly during evenings and weekends.
- Fluency in English.

All Manhattan Prep instructors must:

- Sign a non-compete agreement. (Note: Manhattan Prep will not hire any candidates who are bound by non-compete agreements with other test-prep companies.)
- Make a minimum 1-year commitment, averaging a minimum 3 hours of instruction per week.
