Bookkeeper - Real Estate Development Firm - (Bayside, NYC) New York City

Required Skills and Qualifications:


· Developing Standards, Analyzing Information , Dealing with Complexity, Reporting Research Results, Data Entry Skills, Accounting, SFAS Rules, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, Thoroughness.

· To direct the organization's accounting practices as well as its relationship with lending institutions, attorneys, vendors, insurance brokers, and the financial community by performing the following duties:

· Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.

· Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.

· Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.

· Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.

· Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.

· Provides assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures, and efficient control utilization of financial resources.

· Receive and record requests for disbursements, authorize disbursement in accordance with policies and procedures.

· Perform financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll and budgeting duties.

· Assist with payroll processing.

· Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.

· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

· Maintains strict confidentiality with the CEO regarding financial issues affecting company reputation or financial status.

· Performs other tasks or duties as requested.

Qualifications:

*Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required; Must have 2 years of related experience. Knowledge of QuickBooks required.
