Kingsbridge Heights Community Center (http://www.khcc-nyc.org) is a friendly, bustling settlement house (http://www.unhny.org/about/settlementhouse) serving primarily low-income, Latino families with programs including: early childhood, after school, summer camp, special needs, teens/tweens, college prep, sexual abuse treatment and prevention, ESOL classes, and more. We are located in a safe, friendly area next to Riverdale easily accessible by the 1 train and multiple bus lines.

compensation: Salary is up to $35K for qualified candidates

KHCC seeks both a good writer and designer to become its next Communications Coordinator managing external and internal communications tools. The candidate will have experience as a webmaster and in graphic design (Photoshop, In Design, Dreamweaver), email management, and social media management. He/she will manage or design all print and digital communications media, including website content, social media, email newsletter, agency monthly calendar, flyers, event invitations, annual report, SMS text alerts, and other marketing/communications messaging.

Salary is up to $35K for qualified candidates; annual benefits include 20 days/4 weeks vacation, 12 sick days, and 10 holidays.

The position is part of the four-person Development & Communications Department team and reports to the Director of Development, Marketing & Communications.

Responsibilities include:
• As webmaster, manage and update all content of www.khcc-nyc.org, including text, images, and pages (in coordination with IT department)
• Create content updates and attract new audiences in social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.)
• Produce newsletters (digital and print), promotional emails; design brochures, fliers, annual reports, and other digital and print collateral.
• Manage contact and donor lists in Constant Contact and DonorPerfect
• Produce SMS text message alerts
• Shoot photography of activities/events
• Assist staff with planning fundraisers/events
• Assist with planning, record keeping, data management, and other administrative duties as requested by supervisor

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
• Strong computer skills (Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Excel, Word, Google, database, etc.)
• 1 to 3 years in website and email management
• 1 to 3 years in graphic design
• 1 to 3 years in social media management
• Strong organization skills, with ability to juggle multiple deadlines and tasks
• Excellent communicator and problem-solver
• Ability to work well independently and as a team
• Attention to detail and follow-through
• Excellent interpersonal skills, judgment, and diplomacy
• Ability to think creatively, a sense of humor and flexibility
• Commitment to the mission and programs of KHCC

Pluses:
• Spanish bilingual
• Donor database management experience
• Journalism experience
• Public relations experience
