AV Integration Engineer (West Village) New York City

AbelCine is a leading digital cinema and HD technology supplier to the motion picture, broadcast and new media industries. We offer sales, training, rental, repair and finance services to the professional production community with offices in NY, CHI and LA. Our Integration Sales Department in our NY office is seeking a full time AV Integration Engineer to join our staff. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic, hard working individual to participate in our exciting and fast paced industry.

This position is a key role that would encompass the following responsibilities:

Audio and Video system design and documentation including the master bill of materials (BOM)
Drafting, wiring and cable diagrams, equipment and room elevations
Work with Integration team to ensure AV and broadcast solutions support our clients requirements and goals
Assist Sales team with quote generation as needed
Project management, installation support and fieldwork as necessary
Support and assist with the evaluation of new technologies and equipment
Keep up-to-date on Broadcast and AV technologies by investigating new systems, techniques, and equipment

Only candidates who demonstrate the following attributes will be considered:

Bachelors in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or other advanced technical or science degree, or equivalent relevant work experience
A minimum of 3 years as an engineer in a post-production or broadcast facility
Experienced with WireCAD and/or AutoCAD and Visio
Experience with Broadcast Audio, Video and Control Systems, Video Servers, Storage Area Networks
Solid knowledge of HD broadcast and digital cinema equipment and workflows
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills are essential. Applicant should be comfortable troubleshooting computer systems and electronics at the board level
Hands on installation experience
Computer proficiency required. Must be familiar with basic office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Must be comfortable in both Windows and OSX environments
Familiarity with current IT practices and TCP/IP addressing.
Organization, efficiency and attention to detail are a must
Ability to work well with clients and coworkers to hit deadlines
Outgoing personality and ability to effectively interact with other departments and customers
Drive, flexibility and multi-tasking capability with ability to thrive in a team environment
