Job Description:

Ideal candidates have a BBA in Accounting, Finance or Business Management and at least two years' work experience billing in the fields of public relations, law firms or other professional services and consulting businesses. In the absence of a college degree, additional years of experience will be considered for the right candidate. This position will report to the Client Accounting Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Active participation as finance lead with client teams to support the client invoicing cycle.
• Prepare and analyze accurate and timely retainer, project and hourly invoices to clients, some complex with multiple domestic and international parties.
• Maintain billing consistent with contracts and statements of work, including confidentiality of client and firm matters.
• Respond promptly, accurately and professionally to client service leads, support staff and clients for new client and project set-up and billing research.
• Maintain clean work in process for assigned clients, including creating monthly reporting, budget tracking and time and expense analysis.
• Exhibit strong teamwork and collaboration across departments to solve problems.
• Possess strong independent research skills through efficient use of billing software and Microsoft Office.
• Assist with monthly close related to client portfolio, project journals and other duties including SOX compliance with revenue recognition.
• Meet deadlines on all other ad hoc schedules, analysis and tasks as needed.

Education, Experience and Skills:

• Accounting degree and at least 2 years billing related experience; Degree may be substituted for some college level accounting courses and at additional billing work experience.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., formulas, vlookup and pivot tables).
• Prior experience with accounting and billing systems (Maconomy a plus).
• Quick learner, thinker and problem solver.
• Ability to work independently or as a team member.
• Ability to anticipate works needs and follow through with minimum direction.
• Analytical and detail-oriented with attention to accuracy.
• Customer service orientation for internal and external clients.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently in a dynamic environment.
• Dependable with deadlines and flexible enough to work some over-time in a few peak weeks.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Organizational agility; ability to work with multiple levels of management.
