The Laird Race is the terrific result of Laird Hamilton and Joe Bark collaborating to make a race winning fast touring board for larger paddlers. However, you don't have to be a big strapping athlete like Laird or Joe to have lots of fun with this board - the extra volume makes the Laird Race a more stable board for all paddlers.
Although the board resembles the famous Bark Dominator, it's 1.5" wider, a little thicker, and the tail is rounded rather than squared off.
This is quick becoming a top seller at our shop. It's a great board for touring the turbulent waters in the metro New York area.
