Hi. My name is Patrick , I am 44 years old and a very lovable, kind person. I was diagnosed when I was 25 years old with PKD . I had gone to get a physical at the doctors office Playing football was my life long dream but I was unable to play due to the kidney disease. The disease Iis genetic. . I have been on blood pressure medicine for twelve years. I was on a restricted diet also. The doctors were trying to perserve the kidney function that I had as along as possible. You cannot imagine how my life as as adolescent was. However, last year my kidneys failed and I was put in the intensive care unit of the hospital. This is when I started dialysis. I am on dialysis specifically. I have been told that I am a perfect candidate for a kidney transplant. However, I have not been able to get a matching donor. My friends have tried but have been unsuccessful. My mother is a perfect match but since the evaluation she has had two strokes and cannot donate and others in my family cannot donate due to health I feel that I have so much more living to do. I would love to some day complete my education, get a teaching job, get married, and have a family. Presently, I am not dating because I don't feel that young ladies would understand my condition. My doctors tell me and my family, repeatedly that I really need a kidney. Despite the health issue I am presently experiencing, I remain positive and very upbeat. and want to become a more productive citizen of society.. Since I am O positive, I can only receive a kidney from a person whose blood type is O. OR I CAN DO A PAIRED DONATION WITH SOMEONE WITH A DIFFRENT BLOOD TYPE THEN O
